Two years ago Daniel Beeston, a keen
young bowler from Prees, tore the cruciate ligaments in
his knee. Daniel spent many painful weeks in the Alice
Ward at the Oswestry Orthopaedic Hospital and is now
fully recovered. Daniel wanted to say a big thank you
for the wonderful treatment and care he received at the
Hospital. He also wanted to help raise some funding for
shelters at Prees Bowls Club where he plays his bowls.
With the help of his mother Jane and friend Jan Brain, a
‘Bowlathon’ was arranged over two days in August at the
Prees Cricket and Recreation Club. This raised the
wonderful sum of £500 which was split between the Bowls
Club and the Hospital. Daniel can be seen here
presenting the cheque for £250 to ward sister Susanne
Marsden and Physio Claire Eveson at the Hospital and
£250 to Brian Hickson, the Prees Bowls Club Chairman. Well done Daniel and all who helped or took part |
